European officials weigh in on access to latest AI models (opens in new tab)

The European Commission's Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy Henna Virkkunen has told CNBC that the recent move by the U.S. to restrict the use of Anthropic's latest Fable model has emphasized the need for European tech sovereignty. Meanwhile, German Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger has also weighed in on whether G7 partners may get access to U.S. models.
