AMD X970E May Reuse Existing Chipset Silicon with DDR5 Upgrades (opens in new tab)

AMD’s next high-end desktop chipset, expected to launch as X970E, may not be based on entirely new chipset silicon. Current information points toward continued use of ASMedia’s Promontory 21 design, the same silicon foundation already used for X870E and X670E motherboards.
