Explosion at Malta fireworks factory sends plumes of smoke into air (opens in new tab)

The explosion happened at the Ta' Lourdes factory on the north side of the Mediterranean island on Monday morning. Two men in fields near the factory at the time of the blast were admitted to hospital with minor injuries. Residents in the surrounding area reported shattered windows and buildings shaken by the force of the blast. It is not yet known what caused the explosion
