Government Moves to Scrap Dublin Airport’s 32-Million Passenger Cap (opens in new tab)

Cabinet has approved the Dublin Airport (Passenger Capacity) Bill 2026, empowering the Transport Minister to remove the long-standing 32 million-passenger cap once an environmental review is complete. Lifting the ceiling should unlock new routes, attract further foreign investment and improve Ireland’s air-connectivity for business and leisure travel.
