The Linux Mint team’s October 2025 update focuses on the redesigned “System Information” tool, previously “System Reports.” The update expands its purpose beyond collecting reports, now helping users diagnose hardware and driver issues through clearer system data. It adds pages for USB, GPU, PCI, and BIOS, giving quick access to device IDs, power use, connection speeds, and firmware details.
The new “System Administration” app lets users control boot menu visibility, set timeouts, and add boot parameters, useful for dual-boot and hardware troubleshooting.
Other changes include new Cinnamon Menu options to move the search bar and system buttons, and the replacement of adwaita-icon-theme with the XSI icon set for consistent symbolic icons. LMDE 6 will reach End of Life on January 1, 2026, with upgrades available only for 64-bit systems.
