This lets you hear about the information piecemeal, instead of “drinking through a firehose”. Today, we’re taking a look at another AH advertiser, TouchMagix, as they will show off two brand new games, and launch one that made an appearance at IAAPA last year. Today, we’re taking a look at another AH advertiser, TouchMagix, as they will show off two brand new games, and launch one that made an appearance at IAAPA last year. They will be at booth #1045; let’s take a look:
Treasure Chest
First, let’s take a look at their new redemption game that was at the show last year by the name of Treasure Chest. This is a single-button ball drop game that uses pinballs instead of something like a rubber or plastic ball. Drop the balls through the moving hoops and try to dump a bunch from the chest onto the playfield to win tickets.
Pickleball Toss
TouchMagix describes this as: “A classic carnival-inspired toss game reimagined in a modern arcade format. Fun-filled, high-energy, and made for all ages!” At first I thought that it would involve the popular sport of pickleball, but they’re instead going the carnival route, which makes more sense from an audience perspective (the pickleball sport is popular with adults and seniors, not children). The addition of hanging prizes around the sides like the carnival game is a nice touch; locations can swap these out with what they like, if preferred.
Boxed Up
The last game on our list is “A fast-paced, quick-play merchandiser that offers a fresh, engaging twist to skill-based prize games.” While they are waiting to fully reveal its operation at the show, by what I can gather(if I’m wrong about this, I’ll correct the record), the columns are always spinning and you have to push the button to stop them. When stopped, the forklift attempts to scoop up the box; if it fits, you win, if not, you have to try again. This one is also different in that it’s unusual to see a 2-player merchandiser like this. Large prizes can be 10-12cm(3.9″-4.7″) wide, 8-18cm(3.1″-7″) tall, and 6-9cm(2.3-3.5″) deep; small prizes are 6-7.5cm (2.3-2.9″) wide & deep, 8-12cm(3.1″-4.7″) tall.

As a quick thought, all three of these are showing a pivot away from videmption titles that TM has done in the past, to traditional, electromechanical redemption. They still have several videmption titles, including the Minions game that they released earlier this year and will be there, but it is just interesting to see them shifting their design in that direction (which is also not something that we cover much unless it is a sponsor)
