6:32 pm
remarkable piece of health care help millions of americans get health i would say that, but so much. i mean, she was a leader on lgbtq appropriately representing this area and women’s rights and really mostly just her legislative skills to know her and water up close is really quite a phenomenon. >> well, you mentioned health insurance. of course, that is the number one issue here in terms of this government shutdown. what can you tell us about what’s been happening this week and do you think you might have a deal at some point in the next week? >> i sure hope so. as a ranking member on the health employment, labor and pensions subcommittee and labor committee, which has jurisdiction over 120 million americans who have employer employee health care. our healthcare system is really under attack. whether it’s the congressional budget office saying the big ugly bill
6:33 pm
17 million americans lose their health care or in this bill that we’re holding up it would raise the cost of health care under the affordable care act. thousands of dollars a year for american. so all of that, i voted against this bill vote against the big ugly bill. all of this is to pay for largest transfer of wealth from 90% of the american public to people make over 7 million dollars a year. and then extended currently. so we we cannot vote for this bill as it is. i’m proud that the senate democrats are holding out, i believe in negotiating in good faith. but the good faith has not been shown to the other side in the white are you having any talks with any republicans? not right now. certainly before we left and we were back last week may not have a lot of. personal professional relationships with conservative republicans. i don’t know what they’re doing. i think they’re intimidated madness. coming out of the white house.

think that they will break is just things the public attributing responsibility to the republican party. and the other thing is the epstein files linking only high this so long. one of the reasons are out. i firmly believe it when we go in, they have swear in representative like robin and that’ll be th 200 signature and the discharge petition, which would require within 4 with what it within. 48 hours to the full house whether to release lot and my republican colleagues don’t want to be in the position voting is doing. they should because they’re intimidated by the president and no to release it because they don’t want to have to defend why they’re defending people get what they did in the epstein files that were led to believe. so i think that’s the reason i don’t ideally crack. i see is the american public hopefully we see is siding with us in blaming the republicans bite pretty large margins given how divided the country is.
