After disabling all the hdr supports and the mediatek miravision feature and a week's use, I think I can have a preliminary verdict of the display. I'm currently holding iphone 11 too which is a wonderful (if not one of the best Ive seen) screen that's very easy on the eyes, and I think tcl 60u is in a sense comparable to iphone 11: both is better than the other in some aspects and worse in some others. The tcl 60u has a much larger display with a higher resolution which makes video consumption a better experience in general. The 120hz display on tcl60u is a lot smoother than that on iphone 11. That said, the auto dimming feature mentioned in the video and my previous post is still pretty annoying which isn't an issue on iphone 11. (Hopefully this gets fixed in software updates.) Also, the viewable angles on tcl 60u is not great: moving from directly facing the screen to looking at it sideways at an angle, you see a pretty significant brightness drop. And the backlight on tcl 60u is at times a bit too bright (so I have to manually adjust brightness from time to time, given the auto brightness is anything but accurate), whereas I always find iphone 11's auto brightness accurate and backlight gentle to eyes. Some say the viewable angle and backlight issue is due to lack of diffuser layers in the composition of these LCDs, but don't quote me on that.
Overall though, I do still think that tcl 60u is a pretty decent phone, and despite these issues, probably one of the "highest-end" LCD phones that's out there in the market.
