I’ve had on my list the last couple days to start planning for my TUI-primary setup on an old Microsoft Surface to essentially turn it into a portable terminal.
I say “primary” and “essentially” because I do plan to put a DE on it. For the base system I will have PostmarketOS with OpenBox as the DE. This way I have a basic GUI desktop so I can run a browser and a file manager just in case. However, the terminal will be the star of the show.
To help solve some papercuts, I also plan on leaning on my phone for apps that either don’t exist for the terminal or they’re just not good. To do this I will use scrcpy to view my phone on the Surface screen and interact with it using the keyboard and touchpad on the laptop.
