Q: Tell us about your role at Yelp. What are you and your team responsible for? A: I’m part of the Multilingual team within Customer Success at Yelp, where our mission is to guide business owners—especially those who speak Spanish or Mandarin—through every step of their advertising journey. We empower them with the knowledge and tools to manage their Yelp pages and ads effectively, helping them achieve great results and grow their revenue. I truly thrive here because I get to build real connections in my primary language and support businesses with roots from around the world—every day brings a new story and a fresh perspective!
Q: What does a typical day look like in your role? A: Each day, I connect with business owners by making and receiving calls. While the rhythm might seem routine, every conversation brings a unique business story, new challenges, and fresh opportunities to make a difference. No two calls are ever quite the same, and I love being a part of each owner’s journey.
Second, I find it incredibly rewarding to interact with the sales organizations when rolling out a new project or product. Seeing everything come together and knowing I’ve contributed to their success truly warms my heart. My role fosters direct connections with sales leaders and reps, and I can honestly say I’ve made some lifelong friends here at Yelp.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your work? A: The most rewarding part of my work is seeing business owners succeed. Some of the hardest-working individuals contact us every day, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to empower them with the knowledge and tools to manage their advertising campaigns and address their questions. I’ve seen firsthand how Yelp has impacted their businesses—and it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about real people building their dreams for themselves and their families. Being a small part of their journey is what inspires me every day.
Q: How has your manager supported your growth? A: I’ve had incredible managers at Yelp who genuinely care about my growth—not just professionally, but personally, too. They support my career development, encourage my hobbies, and check in on my family and personal goals. Honestly, the people at Yelp are a big part of why I’ve stayed so long. I always feel comfortable being myself here, and I’m constantly encouraged to learn and take on new challenges.
Q: Tell us about a time that you’ve helped a Yelp customer achieve their goals or solve a problem. A: Recently, I helped a pest control company with multiple locations set up their ads for success on Yelp. The owner was so pleased with the results that he reached out again—not only to thank me, but also to ask for help setting up a new location for his brother. It was rewarding to see my support make a real difference for their business and their family.
Q: How do you and your teammates form connections in a remote world? A: Even whileworking remotely, our team stays connected through weekly “Fun Friday” meetings, where our self-appointed “Fun Director” plans games and activities to help us bond and share some laughs. We also keep in touch throughout the day with group chats and quick pings, making it easy to support each other and build strong relationships.
**Q: Which of Yelp’s values resonates with you the most and why?**A: The value that resonates with me most is authenticity. I was born and raised in Mexico City, completed college and internships there, and moved to the United States after graduating. Yelp has been my first and only job since coming here, and I’m so grateful for the people who believed in me and helped me feel like I belong. At Yelp, authenticity is truly celebrated, and our differences are seen as strengths. That welcoming culture has made all the difference in my journey.
Q: What is something you enjoy doing in your free time? A: I love playing chess and photography. But since becoming a mom, my favorite way to reset is curling up with some popcorn and watching a good show at night.
