Probably my relationship or some code. When it comes to material things, I tend to replace rather than repair. Mostly out of convenience, but also because I’m terrible at DIY. I do try on occasion though.

[1] What’s the last thing you fixed?
Probably my relationship or some code. When it comes to material things, I tend to replace rather than repair. Mostly out of convenience, but also because I’m terrible at DIY. I do try on occasion though.
[2] Favourite website right now?
The best place on the web is are.na — hands down. But some recent gems I’m enjoying are artifacts.is, nts.live, searchsystem.co, and of course theforest.link.
[3] How many house plants do you own?
Fourteen plants of varying sizes. One of them, a Howea palm, completely dominates a room, to the point I’m in two minds about trimming it down or selling it to someone with a larger space than me. What to do?
[4] Something you’ve stopped caring about recently?
Being frugal. I still enjoy saving and investing, but I’ve realised life is meant to be lived, not just planned. If there’s something I genuinely want or need, I’ll allow myself the luxury of buying it (within reason), while keeping my minimalist values intact. Self-care above all else.
[5] An item on your wish-list you can’t justify paying for?
Probably most things on my wish list, to be honest. I usually save items for their aesthetic appeal rather than any real need to own them. That said, if I had to pick one (or two), it would be a Suzuki Jimny or a pair of ACRONYM cargos.
[6] What do you want to like more than you actually like?
Probably matcha. I just can’t enjoy it. I also refuse to add a tonne of sugar or honey to improve the flavour. That approach would make anything taste better. I’ll stick to coffee.
[7] Favourite form of exercise?
Rock climbing, mainly bouldering. I also love playing tennis, and lately I’ve been getting into swimming and running. And no, you won’t see me lining up for an Ironman, likely, ever.
[8] Which season do you feel most connected to?
Spring. Usually ideal outdoor climbing conditions, and it’s when the world wakes from its winter slumber. It‘s a new energy.
[9] Something you miss from childhood?
Human connection. Today, I spend more time behind a screen than I do looking into the eyes of others. I also miss the cottage I grew up in.
[10] Something you want to do more often?
Voice messaging. Although I love text-based communication, I want to lean into voice notes more often. I know it can feel less convenient at times, but I think it introduces an endearing quality to how we interact with one another.
