Dongfeng Motors presented its electric vehicle offerings at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2025 last week, with its distributor Volt Auto serving as the event’s Official Car Sponsor. The Chinese automaker’s presence at the energy-focused conference marked its continued expansion in Singapore’s growing EV market.
Singapore’s electric vehicle market has grown in response to government policy, particularly the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which mandates that all new car registrations be cleaner-energy models from 2030 onward. The policy shift has accelerated consumer interest in electric vehicles. Though, adoption rates remain subject to various normal factors, including vehicle pricing, charging infrastructure availability, and range capabilities.
Dongfeng entered the Singapore market in Q4 2024 beginning with the launch of the Dongfeng Box electric hatchback.
Dongfeng Vigo

The Dongfeng Vigo is a fully electric crossover SUV, known in other markets as the Nammi 06. It is a compelling mix of style, practicality, and technology.
From a design standpoint, the Vigo is robust and modern, featuring a distinctive look that integrates sharp LED lighting and a purposeful stance. More than just aesthetics, its practicality was immediately evident. The Vigo is equipped with a unique, segment-first “Heaven and Earth” dual-section tailgate (a split tailgate similar to those seen on some premium European SUVs), which allows for easy loading and unloading in tight city spaces — a clever feature that genuinely impressed onlookers.
Powering the mass-market contender is a motor putting out around 120 kW (161 bhp), paired with battery options up to approximately 52 kWh, translating to a competitive CLTC* range of over 470 km. The cabin further underscored its family focus, featuring an intelligent cockpit with a large 12.8-inch central screen, comfortable seating (including heated and ventilated driver’s seats in higher trims), and a suite of advanced safety features, including Level 2 ADAS, making it a compelling, well-equipped challenger in the high-volume crossover segment.
Dongfeng 007

The Dongfeng 007, an electric liftback sedan unveiled approximately one week before SIEW 2025, was also on display. The vehicle features performance-oriented specifications and a claimed range of 600 to up to 1,200 kilometers based on China’s CLTC testing cycle.
Also known as the Dongfeng eπ 007, it is the brand’s premium, performance-focused electric liftback sedan, positioned to compete in the medium-to-large segment. It is built on the advanced Quantum architecture platform and notably features a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel Drive) performance variant capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, thanks to its 400 kW (540 hp) output.
This model boasts an extremely low drag coefficient of 0.209 Cd and is equipped with a large battery providing a maximum CLTC range of approximately 540 km for the performance version, alongside the option of a single-motor RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) variant offering up to 620 km of range, and even an EREV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) option for a total range of 1,200 km.
Beyond its impressive performance, the 007 is packed with intelligent technology and distinctive design elements. The interior features an SOA Intelligent Cockpit powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, highlighted by a 15.6-inch central control screen and a unique, flippable 8.8-inch digital instrument panel. Externally, the car showcases an aerodynamic profile with frameless doors and an active electric rear spoiler. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) enabling L2+ autonomous driving functions, solidifying its status as a technologically sophisticated and highly performance-capable offering in the competitive EV market.
The 007 represents Dongfeng’s entry into the premium performance EV segment, where it competes with established electric sedans from both traditional automakers and EV-focused manufacturers.
Charging Infrastructure
Volt Auto has established a partnership with Charge+, which operates Singapore’s largest EV charging network. Under this arrangement, new Dongfeng Box purchasers receive three years of charging credits totaling up to 6,000 kWh across Charge+’s network in Singapore and Malaysia.
Charge+ is developing a regional charging network that includes a planned 5,000-kilometer EV charging corridor connecting Singapore to Hanoi. The availability of charging infrastructure remains a key consideration for EV adoption in the region. Volt Auto handles distribution, sales, and after-sales service for Dongfeng vehicles in Singapore. The company’s operations include retail locations and service centers to support the brand’s market entry.
*Note: This is always a big dispute in the EV space, just as EPA ratings once clashed with manufacturers’ testing. The CLTC ratings typically exceed real-world driving ranges; actual range varies based on driving conditions, climate control use, and other factors.
