Chip Zdarsky Lays Road To Armageddon In Two Titles:
Armageddon is next summer’s big event from Marvel. And the publisher, alongside writer Chip Zdarsky, is throwing coal into the hype train with two announcements: a Wolverine miniseries, and the return of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The first is a four-issue miniseries titled Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, and finds Logan tracking down an abducted, feral mutant named Tyler, rediscovering the Weapon X program, and battling Nuke, who has been hired by a new corporation called PRIMEWARRIOR. Drawn by Luca Maresca, the first issue of that series will hit on February 18, 2026.
But first, a leaner, meaner S.H.I.E.L.D. is back in Captain America #6. Hitting on January 1, 2026, the team will be led by Nick Fury, Jr., alongside four newer characters. They’ll come into conflict with Cap and Red Hulk in Latveria.
Interestingly, Zdarsky originally planned another team in the second arc of the title: the previously announced United Captains, which has been scrapped. Instead, Marvel decided to bring S.H.I.E.L.D. back for the first time since 2017, aka the end of the Secret Empire storyline.
How does this all connect to Armageddon? Who knows! We’ll just have to read to find out.
Maryland Reverses Ban On Graphic Novel Flamer:
The Maryland Board of Education has reversed a school board’s ban on the graphic novel Flamer.
Per CBS News, Harford County schools initially banned Flamer because, according to Suzie Scott, Chair of Moms For Liberty Harford County, “We want to curate the best library possible, so there’s just no room for sexually explicit and vulgar materials in the school library.”
However, as usual with these things, there’s nothing sexually explicit or vulgar about the book: it’s about a young boy who is outwardly homosexual dealing with bullying, as well as resulting suicidal ideation.
After the book was banned, protests erupted, and author Mike Curato even held a sold-out talk about the book in Hartford County, suggesting that any board members who would like to ban the book should be required to read it and write a report, first.
Now the ban has been reversed. And not only that, the Maryland Board of Education has recommended Hartford County schools revise its procedures to provide more transparency and community input.

Iron Fist Returns In New Series:
Lin Lie, aka the current Iron Fist of Marvel, is back in a brand new miniseries: Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun. And he’s brought a few fisty friends with him.
Written by Yifan Jiang with art by Paco Medina, the five-issue series will find Lin Lie leading a bunch of other martial artists against his brother, in a case of sibling rivalry gone very bad. Along the way, the book will also explore the future of Iron Fist, including what’s up with Danny Rand.
Those martial artists include Elektra, White Tiger, White Fox, Pei, Karnak, and Fooh, and they’ll all fight an army of demonic forces.
Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun #1 hits stores on February 18, 2026.
