DISCLAIMER: In the photos, the red color on the logo may appear brighter and more vivid, while the navy blue may appear black. Also the jacket may appear like navy blue in some photos. But in person, that’s not the case!
This seller doesn’t present himself as a factory but openly says he’s just a seller. However, when it comes to Moncler, he claims it’s his own production and that he’s the only one who replicated the 2025/26 version (as of our conversation a month ago). He says the jacket is filled with goose down. Take these information with a grain of salt! For those who don’t know, this is the most popular seller on the 1688 platform when it comes to replica jackets. That’s a fact, and everyone with a taobao/1688 account can check it. If you access his page through an agent’s platform, those details aren’t visible. Seller is local. Don't expect whatsapp, yupoo and some crazy customer support. He has a wechat (can be found in his listings). But be careful and always use an agent because mistakes can happen. Be careful with agents too, because there are cases where they don't offer returns (and there is 7 day return policy) or they place an order for cheaper item which looks similar and then put price difference in their own pocket. And also be careful with the links. Fake stores are popping up everyday. Recently this seller got so popular that there are replicates of his store, using same pictures and providing same wechat, but sending low quality and bad products to the buyers.
I’ve bought many jackets from him so far. Before people start spreading lies and speculation that I’m paid or that this is seller's ad, let me make it clear: I’ve tried a lot of random 1688 sellers! They all use the same photos and size charts, but when the jackets arrive, they aren’t the same! In 99% of cases, they’re in the “shitter” category, regardless of price! This seller, however, turned out to be reliable, which is why I buy from him. I’m not saying you should do the same. Find your own trusted seller. I just think LF value is too hard to beat! Test it yourself, order from a few sellers and see who gives you the most for your money.
I pay for all my reps out of my own pocket, so I stick to sellers I’ve personally checked and who meet my standards. This year alone, I’ve spent over 70000 yuan on chinese apps, and no, I’m not a reseller. Everything I buy is for myself, friends and family. And I am not buyin reps only, I also buy retail items from China. But simply replicas are my hobby, and you can see many reviews on my profile. Reps biggest enemy is the quality itself, but jackets and sneakers are only worth it. That’s why I buy them monthly and sometimes post reviews. The purpose of this review is to show that there’s something hidden that’s actually very good and maybe even better than many things people consider the best or better. I mean that is the reason why I bought it in the first place.
I ordered both the Maya and Montbeliard from the same seller in size 3 based on the size charts provided on sellers page. The package with both jackets weighed under 2 kg, meaning they’re very lightweight, which I didn’t expect. As I said, I don’t have much experience with these jackets except for two Acorus I had a few years ago from TMX and Monrepcscn (now probably repsking). I remember being very disappointed back then with poor stitching, bad material, bad fit (wide waist, long sleeves, narrow shoulders and chest) and both jackets just felt very cheap.
DIST LABEL POCKET
What makes this jacket different from other versions and sellers is the pocket for the DIST label, the same as on the Montbeliard. The seller claims that’s how it is on the current season. I asked some people from this sub, and it’s incredible that so many Moncler enthusiasts living in world capitals can’t go to a store and check if this is true.
FIRST IMPRESSION
When both jackets arrived, I was initially very disappointed. I come from the CG sub and I'm used to a different type of jackets. When I first took this in hands, my first thought was “What the f is this!? Trash bag in a form of jacket!?” I couldn’t believe someone would pay 1500 euros for it. I remember the times when the Maya price was 675 euros. The current price seems unreal for a jacket like this. The material can easily tear (whatever the manufacturer claims), and overall, the construction feels weak. Shell material is not sturdy and durable, no fur or anything special about it. In general, these jackets don’t give me the impression of being durable at all. But that’s not the topic here. The Maya was flat, wrinkled, and looked like it was made of a garbage bin bag. I tried fluffing it up by mild beating and shaking but nothing changed. Then I gave it a hair dryer treatment and it puffed up a bit but was still wrinkled. Only after I used a steamer it really puffed up and the wrinkles disappeared. A few small wrinkles remained, but when the jacket is worn, it puffs up even more and wrinkles disappear almost completely. That’s when I realized I had a crush on this jacket. At that point I was like: CG offers more durable and heavy performance jackets, but this is so classic Italian vibe, stylish and lightweight.
SIZE AND FIT
Regular size, not slim, perfect fit for me. I hate oversize fashion, but also dislike slim fitting winter jackets. There should be some room left inside the jacket so you can layer beneath and trap some air between you and the jacket. Actual measurements (size 3): armpit to armpit 61 cm, shoulders width 46 cm, length 68 cm, sleeve 65 cm. The size chart in the listing seems accurate. The shoulders were probably measured from the back, which explains why the chart says 49 cm, it’s not that wide from the front. Overall the fit of this jacket impresses me the most. Fit is subjective category!
PUFFINESS AND DETAILS
The puffiness, well It's very puffy, something you can’t really see in photos. I think the overall thickness of the jacket is about 9cm (I measured it) when puffed up after wearing. The stitching and seams are hidden in many places, which I love, but that makes it harder to judge the quality. I noticed maybe two loose threads, easily fixed with scissors. The hardware is smooth and feels high quality, which surprised me the most since that’s usually the weakest point on 1688 jackets. I am also impressed with few other details which seem like a high quality materials. And yes, zipper is made of metal ,I don’t know what's all the fuss about that.
THE SHELL MATERIAL
I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. Compared to the Acorus jackets I had years ago, this material is ten times better and has a nice texture. There’s not much to say about this material except that the Maya and Montbeliard from this seller aren’t made of the same fabric. I don’t know how identical it is to the original because I haven’t seen the real Maya up close. I have seen their hats and some women’s jackets, and the material of this Maya feels very similar to that women’s jacket whose name I don’t know.
THE BADGE
Looks much better in person than in photos. It’s centered and not crooked in terms of position (though it might look rotated, for example, in pictures). The stitching around the badge isn’t perfect in my case. But the lines and letters are sharp and clear. If you take a look at two badges from the store which will be posted in comments, you’ll see even the original badges aren’t perfect. Honestly, I don’t understand the obsession with the badge. How long will people be focused on that as if it’s the only thing that matters!? To me, the overall feel of the jacket, whether it feels premium, is much more important. I also compared the badge with pictures of the original, and in my opinion, this is one of the best badges currently available. There are variations among reps (within the same factory/seller), even among originals, but the shape and lettering here are at the highest level. I didn’t get a sample with perfect stitching around the logo (which proves this isn’t a paid review because I got regular jacket, not some special example for review purposes to show perfection). I’ve seen QC pictures where others received perfectly stitched samples, so those exist!
CONCLUSION
I won’t make any conclusions about whether this jacket belongs in the shitter, mid-tier, or high-tier category. I’ll let you decide. I’ve noticed a lot of bias here. For example, if the jacket is from TA or NN, it’s immediately GL. If I posted this jacket and said it was from TA/NN, I’d get a lot of praise and upvotes. None would question the quality of the jacket nor the badge! But since the seller is unknown and not well advertised/represented (unlike some others), people will probably be skeptical and have prejudices!
Still, I firmly believe this jacket is overall better than most. Either in absolute quality or in value. Keep in mind, both originals and replicas have variations in the badge design and stitching. And I must say Montbeliard and Maya badges from this seller aren’t identical (Montbeliard letters are slightly thinner). Is it production variation or design variation, I don't know.
This seller still needs to prove himself in the Moncler niche, and it would be good for more people to see and review his products before making a final judgment. A friend from the sub ordered the navy blue one (with perfect stitching around the badge), and we’re waiting for his review. I’m waiting to buy the TA Maya to compare.
I’m very satisfied with this jacket and will enjoy wearing it. I don’t care about logos or labels. What matters to me is the overall impression whether the jacket feels like a high-end/high-quality item. When I wear this one, it gives me that impression. In my city, a lot of kids wear cheap reps, and compared to those, this jacket is completely different. I’ve seen someone wearing an original Maya once, and this replica has the same fit, not too puffy, not too flat, just right, perfect shoulder drop, perfect length, perfect sleeves length...
