Machines don’t miscalculate — they misunderstand.

I watched GPT-4.1 generate perfect code for the wrong problem. I’ve seen Claude Opus 4.1 write flawless documentation for a feature nobody wanted. I’ve debugged systems where the AI was technically correct about everything except what actually mattered.

The models are getting smarter, faster, and more capable. They can write code, analyze data, generate images, and reason through complex logic. But there’s one problem that doesn’t get solved by better algorithms or more training data:

AI doesn’t understand what you actually mean.

Not because the technology isn’t advanced enough. But because human communication is fundamentally ambiguous, context-dependent, and layered with assumptions we don’t even realize we’re making.
