Micron Computers was a moderately successful attempt by Micron Technology, a maker of computer memory chips, to market PCs. First released in 1995, the venture succeeded very well at first, and survived in the marketplace until November 6, 2008. Although not widely remembered today, Micron made dependable, reliable PCs at a fair price.

Remembering Micron Computers

This to top of the line Micron PC from 1995 would have been a dream machine for Windows 95. It wasn’t overpriced but it wasn’t cheap, either. It likely cost over $2,000 when new.

In mid-2018, Crucial Technology, the Micron subsidiary that sells memory modules to consumers, posted a question on its social media account: What was your first laptop?
