- 19 posts
- including the Bearblog carnival on lavender media
- behind the scenes work on some pages trying to distill some themes
Progresses elsewhere
- sorted a big stack of my old ‘children’s classics’ books for my eight-year-old niece
- redoing my Marianne North project as a wiki
- planning some fun things for 2026: games days, camping, swimming, a writing retreat-style holiday with a friend
- went to a new desi street food place, for my second haircut in a calendar year, out for pizza with my niece, the annual tradition of the local theatre’s Christmas show, a chaotic Christmas choir concert, an even more chaotic school play, various family get-togethers, a games day, an Australian Survivor themed night.
Favourites this month
- my wife and I listened to The Isle in the Silver Sea by Tasha Suri on some longer car journeys. An obstacle to progress is we just like singing
- Wake Up Dead Man
- The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden
- enjoyed Pluribus though likely not in the ways I should
- The Unfinished Harauld Hughes by Richard Ayoade
- playing a lot of Tiny Glade. It’s just so cosy when it’s wet and cold and dark
Wrote a bit about my music this year after Spotify Wrapped excitement.
♫ Turbine Blue - Seekae, Slow It Down - BILBAO and Thala, All About The Sunshine - So Soon, Thieves Klaves Remix - The Beach and Klaves, White Country - Sweet Tempest, Damn It All - John Joseph Brill.
January things
- a bunch of family birthdays which is nice
- got some fun local history and museum-stuff booked
- trying to restrain myself from any planting. Too early but I get itchy
