Let’s be honest, growing blueberries here in the UK can feel a bit like trying to coax sunshine out of a rain cloud sometimes, especially for those of us with naturally alkaline soil. When I first started transforming my 800 sq ft backyard in the Midlands five years ago, blueberries were high on my list. I imagined rows of plump, homegrown berries, perfect for my morning porridge.
