Every November 7 is N7 Day, a celebration of BioWare’s *Mass Effect *franchise. While 2025 marked another year without any concrete info or a reveal for the fifth entry, developer BioWare had a piece of art that further lays breadcrumbs for what’s going on in the galaxy.

On Friday, BioWare revealed the “Civil War” art, which features a squad of Krogan engaging in a chaotic firefight. Krogan are no stranger to fighting with other species (or themselves), but according to project director and franchise executive producer Mike Gamble, this covers a “future event” set after the original trilogy and potentially Mass Effect Andromeda—which itself is set centuries after the trilogy in a whole other galaxy. Gamble then went on to say that “everything you’ve seen, from all N7 days, will connect.”
The studio’s been teasing the new entry for years, mostly with concept art indicating change across the cosmos, like the Milky Way galaxy rebuilding after the Reaper war and the Andromeda galaxy’s denizens discovering more Remnant technology. In 2023, we got a short 30-second video featuring an unknown helmeted character in a spiffy N7 jacket walking through a room and heading outside *somewhere, *and they look to be this game’s protagonist or, at the very least, someone with a key role—they’re prominently featured in artwork from that same year, which also features various aliens within their jacket.

Along with the Krogan art, BioWare affirmed that it’s currently “heads-down and focused exclusively on *Mass Effect. *We have a lot of universe to cover, lots of features to build, and lots of romances to figure out. We’re excited by what we’re building, and we promise you: when we’re ready, it’ll be a lot of fun to show.”
Whatever *Mass Effect 5 *is, BioWare seems to have a plan in mind, and it also involves the Prime Video show. Time to wait for more info about both and see which one comes out first.
