There are a lot of things I don’t get. Of course, if you do get them and enjoy them for whatever reason I don’t get, then you are welcome to. I just don’t get it.

Like Lego.
It can’t be good, can it? Millions, if not billions, of plastic bricks and millions of other shapes, made and sold in ever more convoluted kits of environment-spoiling bits. People spend hours making the thing - not creating anything, just following the instructions - and then proudly show off they have done so. Even though it was just following someone else’s instructions.
Congratulations. You have proved that you can read. And…

Like Lego.
It can’t be good, can it? Millions, if not billions, of plastic bricks and millions of other shapes, made and sold in ever more convoluted kits of environment-spoiling bits. People spend hours making the thing - not creating anything, just following the instructions - and then proudly show off they have done so. Even though it was just following someone else’s instructions.
Congratulations. You have proved that you can read. And have patience. Oh, so much patience. Just imagine how much you might have done that was actually original instead of making that... thing.
They are now the ‘proud’ owner of a crap looking model, all angled edges of garish plastic, of - well, the last one I saw on my social feed was a Gizmo gremlin - which will shed bits off itself, or even collapse entirely, if there’s a bit of a draft in the room.
I mean, look at it. What are you actually going to do with it now? And see that on the box ‘18+’. FFS. Don’t touch it of course, unless you have another three days spare to make it all over again.
Then the many bloody component parts last forever. I am still finding bits of Lego secreted behind doors and beneath furniture in my house, and my kids moved out fifteen years ago. I’ve had a cat choke on a bit of Lego. There was a shipping container of Lego components spilled off the coast of Cornwall in 1997 and lost components are still washing up on beaches in the area now. They mostly still look like they were made yesterday, after nearly thirty years in the sea.
I don’t understand why actual adult human beings love it so much.

You didn’t make it mate, Lego did. They’ve burped out billions of bricks and odd wedge shapes and wheels and squillions of assorted bits the size of an object that barefooted people everywhere never saw lying on the stairs but nearly killed them. And you just followed the instructions they gave you and ended up with a lump of utter plastic shit.
Kids, yes, maybe. But still not in kits of bits that have to be made just like this, to the letter, to end up with the model pictured on the box. Give them components that they can make into what they want. Creativity, not conformity.
When I am President of the World, Lego is done for.
