Iranian government forces killed seven Lor people by direct gunfire during protests in the city of Lordegan, in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, raising the total number of people killed in the city during recent protests to nine.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the killings took place on the evening of January 7, 2026. The victims have been identified as Hossein Mounesi, 21; Mehdi Mousavi, 27; Abolfazl Khaledi, 24; Bahman Fattahi (Milasi), who was married and the father of two children; Mohammad Mousavi; Farhad Eyvazi; and Masih Jalil. All were residents of Lordegan and were shot during the protests in the city.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the killings took place on the evening of January 7, 2026. With these deaths, Hengaw has verified the identities of 42 people killed by direct gunfire from Iranian forces during the recent protests. Six of those killed were children.
Hengaw had previously reported that during protests held in Lordegan on January 7, the level of violence used by Iranian forces was extremely severe, with security units opening direct fire on civilians, resulting in multiple people being killed and injured.
Videos obtained by Hengaw clearly document the scale of violence used against protesters in Lordegan. In one video, a narrator confirms that Iranian forces used live ammunition to suppress the demonstrations.
Hengaw had earlier reported the killing of two other people during protests in Lordegan on December 31, 2025, identified as Ahmad Jalil, 21, and Sajjad Valamanesh.
