Here are my weeknotes from October 28 to November 3, 2025!
What? October is already over and we are venturing into the last mile of the year! This is honestly incredible to thing about, It’s close to my work anniversary too (no other anniversary to be seen anytime soon hmm). This week has been crazy so, here we go!
📻 I bought myself an Innioasis Y1, a music player with an iPod aesthetic with Rockbox support and a couple nice things. I am willing to give offline listening a try on a separate device, at the cost of leaving my ListenBrainz scrobbling behind. I wonder how it’ll go, to be honest.
📃 I was added to NowNowNow after getting an invite from Derek Sivers himself, who somehow found my website, that was really really cool!

🏖️ I went on a short vacation to Chapala, Jalisco, the biggest Lake of México, and quite the touristy place! Stayed in a cabin and although the bed wasn’t too comfy I managed to sleep well at night. During the day I did some physical activity (passing a frisbee, an american football, or playing soccer), and a bunch of card games!
🖋️ I did quite a bit of fountain pen handwriting during my time on vacation, like, letter drafts, notes and even drawings, I don’t think I’ll share it here though, but it exists!
⚔️ I met some old friends and made some new ones! It was nice to catch up on many things. One of my new acquaintances turned out to be a huge Monster Hunter fan, which immediately made us pals, even if he’s more of a new guard kinda guy who got into it from World, and I’m an old-guard who started with Freedom Unite. All the people I met were pretty cool though, so it was fun!
♟️ As mentioned already, we played a lot of board games during our vacation. Some games we played were Exploding Kittens, the new classic I’ve mentioned before!, Virus, which wasn’t new to me but was fun with new friends, and Sabelotodo(Know-It-All?), a marathon-style game with questions and answers that sparked some fun banter.
🃏 Back at home I still played some card games with my regular friends, and an old family friend who came visit! We played The Mind, Dutch Blitz, Virus again, Sequence, and finally, Oh Hell!, which proved itself to still be the most addicting and thrilling of them all!
🍴 We went to a restaurant the other day with our family visit, and almost bailed because while heading there we noticed that electricity was down in the area. However, literally when we were about to return home, all the lights came back, so we had our dinner! It was more expensive than I remembered, it was worth it though.
🕹️ The last game I purchased this year is here! The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky The 1st, the full remake of the first game of the series! A massive undertaking to go through. As soon as I saw the release on LRG months ago, I couldn’t help myself. But now it’s here, and I’ll play it someday. No more physical games are planned this year, hopefully December won’t change that…
Gaming
It’s been a while since I’ve basically avoided videogames for the majority of the time of a whole week.
I only made some small progress on CrossCode on Monday, after that I didn’t touch my Switch at home, and I didn’t bring my Switch with me to the vacations I took! Not even yesterday did I play any videogames at all! However, I made some progress today, and I am heading to a town on top of some snowy mountain.
The gamer friends I made on my trip had a Nintendo 3DS and were playing through some stuff (it was modded!), but I actually never touched it. I had brought my Anbernic RG35XX SP, but other than lending it and quickly showcasing stuff like Final Fantasy VI and Metal Slug Advance, I didn’t play that much.
I also played a bunch of online word games like Wordle, Connections, Categories, Waffle Game, Tiled Words and One Word Search.
Reading
I made it up to chapter 206 of Ariadne in the Blue Sky, the story is coming to a close and there are a lot of plot developments going on in different places at once, it’s actually kind of awesome.
I also catched up with Chainsaw Man, only three more chapters though, although each one was really shocking and made some bold moves, I feel the end coming soon as well, although it’s still ongoing so, who knows.
I didn’t really make myself the time to read that much more. Even my Kobo Clara 2E shut itself off because I didn’t touch it after Monday.
Watching
Pretty much nothing either to be honest.
When we went to the restaurant, The Witches was playing, I had never seen it in a modern TV such as the one in the restaurant, it was kind of weird to see all the details it has, and how weird the pace feels. I think the last time I watched parts of it was on a CRT on some public TV channel more than 12 years ago.
