Thank you to the promptness of the Staff of OVER/UNDER for ensuring that things are in motion. You know how it is. A feeling in the gut gone unchecked will writhe around forever. But a nice feeling in your gut? That lasts just as long. Don’t worry about it if you already feel like you’ve got enough on your plate. Just Jeremy being Jeremy.

This article is being left up for prosperity to people I find the dearest. My Tiger. My Dragon-King. My Terrapin. Myself. We did it gang.

If you are reading this very soon after it happened, you are not in the position to read this rationally. This one goes out to the tremendous team running Over/Under especially so.

A white rabbit gently shines from a place beyond the dream to remind you that neglecting your reality for the sake of entertainment is something that is never ok. Make sure you have met all of your mental, physical, emotional, financial needs met so you can play the game in it’s final days with a clean slate.

Hi! I’m Haley. Everything I said about myself, my love for your character, specifically was emphatically true. I’m a Disabled Person living in England who’s been isolated for a year. If you are reading this, you probably have a few things in common. An absolute undying love to telling amazing stories. Your voice into an absolutely immense beautiful chorus called Prospero’s Dream, which is ran by the tremendous Sean McCoy. As I said, I will do. I have meant not even an inkling of malice to anyone. Not a single player, nothing. My chats OOC where all done with the absolute knowledge and intent that there was several extremely difficult situations that I kept trying to suggest should be avoided. As such, this is a message of empathy to you, your characters, and your amazing families and friends who have gotten to watch you do it.

If you’ve formed a personal relationship with me over the goodness of Jeremy: You have never been lied to. This has been my last ditch attempt to get someone to think so the game can end with a happy ever after for everyone else. I expect you to feel hurt, uncomfortable, with some massive distrust issues to me. These are normal. It’s hard to believe someone could care about every single player. But I do. This is a VERY QUICK Public Service Announcement as the dream reaches it’s conclusion. For every thought you have, I want you to feel in equal measure. Is this discomfort directed at me, or have you personally found it difficult to communicate through the immense noise of the station? This is something that will take months to unpack, as nobody has emphatically consented to what has happened. Here is a very quick clean up from someone who literally only did things to make people happy, apologised when they accidentally upset people, and did everything they could to prevent this message from going out publicly.

A final reminders to Dreamers who have decided to treat this in a state of panic, staff included. Literally everyone needs to breathe. You pay a tax for it. Mr Moneybag’s, Jeremy’s lovely Dad, has paid for it.

I would like to first start discussing matters of myself. I’m Haley! I have a Functional Neurological Disorder that makes it extremely difficult to move my body and my mind. As you can imagine, this has been extremely taxing on me. Nobody asked me to do this, but I would feel like I had done something tremendously wrong if I didn’t take actual hard action to alert everyone that what has been going on is ok.

As you are probably aware, there’s been many uncomfortable experiences for a lot of people on the Dream. As usual, this has been an experiment and things need to have things gently turned on and off again. I am not going to recap this to people not outside the dream. This is the only platform I have and I ask that you are generous and respectful with why I have done this. Do not let this sunset the dream, All of you deserve an ending that you are comfortable with.

So, very basically. There’s been massive consent issues and some real difficulties in moving forward. This is simply because Sean and the whole Moderation team are humans, and when I said to you that you were bleeding, I meant physically. I could sense hurt, upset, and a level of stress you should not feel comfortable with. If you signed up with a specific expectation of a War-Game and you are having to do damage control, you of all people should raise your hand up or simply hit the bricks. Sometimes Caliban is obvious, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes someone bothers to pull the emergency breaks for one final reason. Again, this is out of complete love and compassion and I will personally be volunteering any time and energy I can spare so you can complete the experience.

3 Major Things should Occur before the end of the dream:

• Emphatic Consent. Things move fast, people say things that they didn’t think through. This is not anyone’s fault at all, this is because we are all living and feeling creatures. A new role should be made explaining that this is the end-game and things are gonna get fucking wild, and a new area should be made for people who would rather just have a nice time and avoid it. Let’s say it’s a moon, gently watching out, not letting itself be worshipped at all.
• A specialised OOC. There are a lot of OOC channels. Far too many to be checked on for people to be able to communicate effectively. I recommend a dedicated safe zone for folks to reach out and be privately contacted with members of our community with lived experience who are intending to step back or move forward regardless. I wish there was the possibility to provide this in a bigger capacity. But for now, let’s just say a certain rabbit is hopping around, checking in from someplace else that everyone is doing ok.
• A commitment to ask for help. Everyone participating in the dream needs to be comfortable and ready to hit “@mod” and dip. They are literally here to make this Dream into a really pleasant experience for you. Nobody is at fault for this, this is an Open Letter to everyone I know who has felt open and honest with me to discuss their lived experience. You have not been lied to for a second. You all need to be ready to alert the mods and simply walk away and be ready to get back to the end of the dream later. It’s safe, it’s right, and it’s going to support everyone in the final moments. Now that’s a Mic Drop.
• Player safety above all. You are allowed to check in on your fellow players to make sure they’ve eaten, slept well, had plenty of water, and are actually able to commit to the great storytelling. You are never wrong for speaking up and making sure that someone hasn’t forgotten to do something that might cause them difficulties in their own lives. Drinking water is not an optional thing. Sleep is not an optional thing. Eating is not an optional thing. Always. Always. Feel ready to play.

Team, you are incredible. When I’m suggesting you need an Accessibility Consultant, is because everyone needs access. Everyone needs support. I created Jeremy because I was worried. I felt like my wonderful friend from the real world would get himself hurt. Unfortunately what I saw was a lot. You have done a good job communicating the risks and I would like everyone to give Sean and the entire crew of moderators a very very good pat on the back. You are allowed to hit the bricks too. No contract is worth trauma that will last a good deal longer. Ask yourself, have you been considering Team Safety also? You are not androids, you are real human beings and you need to act as such.

This is a very slap-dash last ditch effort. I’m extremely worried for real world people and I need this to be taken seriously and listened to. People are not going to like what happens if you do nothing, so consider this a last little chance to catch some air and have a breather before we set off the fireworks and live the Dream out in our own private lobbies. I cannot state enough how much of a fantastic time I’ve had providing, caring, giving people their own space when I felt like they had characters that may need a little extra chatting. I left the dream to see if anything would change if I was gone. The torch has been passed on, a kindness from afar flickers so brightly it’s almost white.

Do not let the Dream die over something that could have been prevented.

I love you all, and I apologise for your discomfort and feelings during this time. I would not have it any other way than this. You all need someone to snap you back to reality so you can take some time to prepare for the most beautiful fireworks I’ll ever see pop off.
