Tiger on the Beat*** (1988)*
Directed by Lau Kar-Leung; written by Tsang Kwok-Chi Digital exclusive in: United States and Canada Also available in: United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland
“Was bumping along just fine to the funny if standard buddy cop rhythms, then the last act goes hog f—kin wild and made this an instant all timer. There’s a chainsaw fight that’s legitimately one of the best choreographed sword fights ever put to film. Hell yeah. Chow Yun-Fat is so cool, so sexy and so funny it’s embarrassing that anyone else even tries.” —Brandon Streussnig******

Kisapmata** (1981)**

“A lean-and-mean masterpiece of dread and claustrophobia, its grip tightening with every taut, ominous frame leading up to its inevitable—yet no less chilling—finale. One of the best domestic thrillers in Asian cinema, right up there with Kim Ki-young’s The Housemaid.” —IsabelSandoval

It Must Be Heaven*** (2019)*
Written and directed by Elia Suleiman Digital exclusive in: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, Germany and Austria
“There was a point about a third of the way through writer/director Elia Suleiman’s absurdist comedy where I realised that hidden just under the surface of the very funny screenplay was a diamond-hard political edge.” —Mike Kennedy

Poison*** (1991)*
Written and directed by Todd Haynes Available in: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland
“What an unabashedly bold, stylized and literary debut from one of our most accomplished directors that still provokes and inspires more than 30 years past its debut.” —Leighton Trent

Before We Vanish*** (2017)*
Directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa; written by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Sachiko Tanaka, from a play by Tomohiro Maekawa Available in: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland
“‘alien sci-fi thriller’ was about as much as i knew about this movie going in but damn i didn’t expect to be so moved by it!!! it reminded me of drake doremus’ equals (i’m in the minority for liking that one i think… but shit, i wept so hard)—strip away the science-fiction element, and you have this existential search for the meaning of humanity. as haddaway famously asked, ‘what is love?’ (this becomes a key question in before we vanish).” —KYK
