Hardware features include a 2.4-inch IPS touchscreen with 640 × 480 resolution, a GC2093 2 MP image sensor, microphone, 1 W speaker, RGB LED indicators, and fill lights. Connectivity options include USB-C and DFRobot’s Gravity I²C/UART interface, plus a slot for an optional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 module for wireless video streaming.
The modular camera design supports interchangeable lenses such as microscope or long-range variants, allowing the device to adapt to a variety of vision tasks.

According to DFRobot, the HUSKYLENS 2 includes a built-in Model Context Protocol service that connects its vision output to large language models, enabling contextual interpretation of physical scenes beyond basic object detection.
The device supports ONNX, PyTorch, and TensorFlow frameworks and works with Arduino, micro:bit, ESP32, UNIHIKER, Raspberry Pi, and other controllers using UART or I²C interfaces.
