Six months ago, I was the very opposite of an early bird. A trio of snooze button hits, one scroll on Twitter while lying in bed, and the start of the day always felt… wrong and hasty.
Like I was always responding instead of leading.
Not a complete breakdown, but something less noticeable: an extremely slow drainage of vitality, attention, and assurance.
And the worst part? Deep down I was aware of my potency, — still, I just could not locate the button to switch it on.
Then came the 2 a.m. internet-reading thing consisting of the compound effect of small morning habits.
Not a “5 a.m. or bust” drama. Not a 47-step miracle routine. Only a list of very doable morning activities that supposedly could, in the long run, affect one’s focus, health, and mindset enormously in a couple of months.
I was doubtful but also very desperate so I went for the experiment.
Six months long, I engaged in all 10 practices every morning without fail. No “I will do it later” and no “I’ll make up for it.”
