Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has pleaded not guilty to 15 charges currently stacked against him, including four counts of rape.
Westwood appeared at London’s Southwark Crown Court on Monday, December 8, where he only spoke to confirm his name and enter his pleas, the BBC reports.
The DJ and former *Capital Xtra *presenter faces 15 charges in relation to seven women, spanning four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and nine counts of indecent assault.
The offences are alleged to have taken place over a 33-year period, dating back to 1983 when he was accused of indecently assaulting a 17-year-old girl in London, to the most recent allegation of sexual assault of a woman in her 20s in 2016.
Three incidents of indecent assault are alleged to have taken place at the BBC Studios in 1996, where Westwood worked for 19 years between 1994 and 2013.
He is also charged with raping a woman in 1996 at a hotel, one count of rape between 2000 and 2001 in London, and two counts of rape at another London address in the 2010s.
“It takes courage to come forward and report allegations of this nature," Met Police Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy previously said on the case. "The women who have done so have put their trust in us and we continue to provide them with all available support."
Westwood has been granted bail until his trial, which is set to begin in January 2027.
