The visitors got off to a flying start in Alkmaar, where they have a good record in recent seasons. After just four minutes, a poor pass from AZ goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro gifted Mauro Júnior an easy opener. PSV doubled their lead in the 11th minute when Til finished off a flowing move, with Ismael Saibari correctly judged onside after an initial flag.
Til struck again before the half-hour, racing onto a through ball from Mauro Júnior, flicking it over Wouter Goes, and blasting home against his former club. With Ricardo Pepi fit again but on the bench, Til’s display justified Bosz’s faith in him.
AZ briefly capitalized on PSV’s complacency before the break, as Sven Mijnans pulled one back following a defensive error by Yasek Gasieorowski. Weslley Patati could have narrowed the gap further in stoppage time but mis-kicked from close range.
Any remaining suspense vanished early in the second half when debutant Kasper Boogaard’s failed backheel on halfway led to Joey Veerman curling in PSV’s fourth. Til completed his hat-trick in the closing stages to cap another emphatic performance by the league leaders.
