Third-party lens manufacturers are introducing new offerings for photographers. Some are experimenting with focal range, while others are launching modular lenses to make photography easy. Similarly, there are some third-party lens makers working on tilt-shift lenses, which are already quite rare. TTArtisan is one such company that has launched a tilt-shift lens for full-frame users. Their latest focal range certainly revives an iconic offering from Canon.

Asobinet states that Meisho Optical has announced the TTArtisan TS 17mm f4 ASPH, which bears resemblance to the Canon 17mm TS-E f4L Tilt-Shift. While Canon had some great tilt-shift lenses, they phased out when the company launched its mirrorless cameras. In that regard, TTArtisan is doing an excellent job for photographers who want something different. Here is a quick look at the specs:

A tilt-shift lens is particularly well-suited for architecture photographers who want to capture the entire room or building in one frame. There is also the chance to capture great portraits, which the lens promises to deliver. The tilt lens also provides an excellent miniature effect, something that photographers need for creative shots. TTArtisan has priced the lens at 3180 yuan, which is about $446. It has not launched in the United States yet, but when it does, it will be one of the better offerings for tilt-shift lovers.
There are only a handful of tilt-shift lenses for mirrorless users, and of these, Astrhori, Laowa, TTArtisans, and7Artisans are the brands that manufacture them. While TTArtisans had 50mm and 85mm offerings, this is their first lens with a wide-angle focal range. Laowa also offers the 20mm f4 Zero-D Shift Lens and the 15mm f4.5 Zero-D Shift, both of which are excellent options too.
While we haven’t reviewed any tilt-shift lenses from the company, we have tested their other prime lenses. For instance, in our review of TTArtisan 28mm f5.6, we said, “The image quality is loaded with character that others would call things like chromatic aberration, ghosting, flaring, etc. But that’s the point of a lens like this. You’re not buying into a clinical look, and MTF charts tell you nothing about the romance of the photo.” We have high hopes for this one. If you’d like to see how the lens performs, be sure to keep an eye out for our review.
