Alpine will keep faith with Argentinian driver Franco Colapinto, who has yet to score a point in F1 this year, after the 22-year-old was confirmed for 2026 on Friday. He will again partner Frenchman Pierre Gasly at the struggling French team, they announced at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Colapinto was initially a reserve driver at Alpine, but replaced the also pointless Australian Jack Doohan at Imola in May. The son of Australian motorcycle icon Mick Doohan was subsequently demoted to reserve driver.
