Half of the original centre of the Swiss village of Blatten, which was buried by a glacier collapse earlier this year, can be rebuilt, authorities said on Friday. A new hazard map presented by officials shows that while half of the old village is deemed safe for reconstruction, around 70% of the overall municipal territory, which includes several surrounding hamlets, remains in a dangerous zone where construction is prohibited.
