Moving to a league-best 9-2 record in the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons defeated the Washington Wizards after a comeback effort.
It seemed like Detroit was heading towards an upset defeat against Washington until Daniss Jenkins stepped up when it mattered most.
With just 1.9 seconds remaining in regulation, Jenkins knocked down a three-pointer to force overtime, where the Pistons pulled out a 137-135 victory.
The 24-year-old provided a massive lift off the bench, finishing with a career-high 24 points while shooting 9-for-17 from the floor and hitting four of his six attempts from beyond the arc.

In Detroit’s victory, Cade Cunningham put up a career-best 46 points, adding 12 rebounds, 11 assists, and five steals to complete a remarkable stat line.
Until Monday, only Michael Jordan had ever recorded a game with at least 40 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals.
Even though he shot just 14-of-46 from the field, Cunningham’s impact on both ends of the court was clear throughout the game.
The efficiency was not there for him that night – if it had been, he likely would have hit the 50-point mark and kept overtime off the table. Still, performances like this do not go unnoticed in any era.
As much as being mentioned alongside Jordan is significant enough on its own, doing it in a win is something that will stick with him.
Cunningham led all NBA players in scoring on November 10th according to SofaScore. It might not have been efficient, but every one of those buckets mattered for Detroit.

Detroit’s rise to the top of the Eastern Conference has plenty to do with Cunningham looking every bit the part of a franchise player.
Despite shooting just 14-of-46 from the floor, he still managed to carry a shorthanded Pistons squad past Washington.
The Pistons guard has also developed into one of the league’s most reliable late-game players. He currently leads the NBA in fourth quarter points this season.
Over his first 11 games, he is averaging 27.5 points, 9.9 assists, and 5.4 rebounds.

The Pistons are off to their best start since 2003, and Cunningham’s consistency in tight moments is a big reason why.
