Hi, I’m Juhis, a community builder, tech educator, public speaker, note-taking enthusiast and the brain behind the thoughts that led to this digital garden.

I’m originally from (and currently living in) Finland but adventures have taken me to Shanghai, San Francisco and Berlin doing interesting projects with amazing people. A year living in San Francisco in my early adulthood was fundamental to my life and career. It helped me get out of my socially shy shell, learn to small talk and learn the power of networking and communities.

I work as a software developer and both at work and outside of it, I build communities like Turku ❤️ Frontend and archipylago and Koodiklinikka. I find this description from Socratica community to fit how I see myself and my role in the communities very well:

Our job is that not of organizers, but little scheming elves trying to support the growth of great people over time.

I love board and card games and every now and then dabble in designing them too, although I haven’t yet designed a game of my own yet. Hopefully one day. I play Pokemon TCG and occasionally Magic the Gathering.
