I saw a blog post where somebody was shilling a service that gives you ideas to blog about so that you can maximize readers or whatever. it’s a paid service.
I don’t like itttt. It rubs me the WRONG WAY. I like to be rubbed, but not like this.
I just don’t think the grindset belongs in blogging. I believe this is a personal endeavor, not one for riches or for fame or for capturing readers because some guru or algo gave me the right idea.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s NICE when a post blows up and a bunch of people are resonating with it. I really like it when people enjoy my writing. Even two or three bears (toasts) just makes me happy that somebody read and possibly enjoyed my work.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s NICE when a post blows up and a bunch of people are resonating with it. I really like it when people enjoy my writing. Even two or three bears (toasts) just makes me happy that somebody read and possibly enjoyed my work.
But I write on my passions, I write about my struggles, I bitch about politics, I share code and tools that I think other people might find useful. Okay, I guess I do evangelize RSS which is a little bit of the thing I find annoying. BUT I do it because I believe in RSS, not because I have an RSS service to sell.
But Idk. I do these things out of passion, out of emotion (such as irritation in this case), and out of some personal drive. I don’t want help optimizing, and I don’t want to read writers who’s purpose is growth and gain.
I guess I’m not opposed to writing advice. I’m not opposed to things like Blaugust (though I have no interest in a daily grind myself). And I guess I’m not really opposed to like “Here’s some ideas of things to blog about”, which could definitely be helpful if you just are personally trying to write more.
So maybe I should get off my high horse. I don’t even have a horse. I’m not sure if I even know how to ride a horse.
When I’m in a mood to write but I don’t know what to write about, I generally just read other people’s blogs until I’m inspired and need to write about something myself. I actually had a post in mind but my irritation got the better of me and here you go, okay bye!
Oh, and if you do want ideas to blog about, here’s some suggestions:
