i don’t consume much self-help content but once upon a while, i snack on them if i am looking for some guidance. i don’t really need motivation, just to help for thinking. sometimes it’s just the youtube algorithm’s benevolence that i stumble across videos that change my perspective, however this is a rare occurence.
usually i send some video links to some friends who may be interested. it’s bookmarking with context plus i like sharing beautiful things. however this time i think it’s worth making a log for these, because maybe it will act a…

i don’t consume much self-help content but once upon a while, i snack on them if i am looking for some guidance. i don’t really need motivation, just to help for thinking. sometimes it’s just the youtube algorithm’s benevolence that i stumble across videos that change my perspective, however this is a rare occurence.
usually i send some video links to some friends who may be interested. it’s bookmarking with context plus i like sharing beautiful things. however this time i think it’s worth making a log for these, because maybe it will act as a good reminder.
Quentin prompted me to take some steps out of my comfort zone (contributed to my decision of moving out of my house to some extent) He talks about how he always was passionate about videos and movies and this got him a job at a video archive store. He felt sort of enough in his job and was "asleep" for 2 years until he realised something with the help of a coworker. he eventually moved out to a pplace near hollywood and took steps to pursue his dream of making successful movies.
here he details some of his struggles and how he basically built his career out of nothing. i know he probably falls in the genius spectrum but there is still a lot to learn - from what all correct steps he took to pursue what he wanted to do.
the more you restrict yourself in a protective way and the more you will fear what is out there and the smaller your world becomes and the more there will be fears so by protecting yourself too much you create bigger fears for yourself and by going towards some of the difficulties in your life and practicing working wisdom and stopping being just afraid of them and avoiding them by practicing that you’re practicing your strength you’re practicing what I would call your existential courage now you don’t have to overdo it you don’t have to go find danger and you know become counterphobic about it but it is important to stay flexible and to push yourself as they like to say out of your comfort zone

i used to think riza got lucky with her videos (very bad of me). I mean she did but there’s still a lot of skill, effort and dedication behind her success. she has been a professional filmmaker for 5 years before she actually started this channel (not a noobie too). the level of detailing she does for each of her scenes is insane.
Click to reveal i think "being in my flop era" is the wrong way to describe this period in my life. an era implies an extended period of time. my flop era is not an era. it’s a temporary feeling that i keep repeating in moments when i’m avoiding my feelings that are painful. my life right now isn’t a placeholder until i get exactly what i want. this is my actual life, and it’s slipping away from me. the kindest thing i can do for myself is to actually enjoy it. i am gonna be proud of each bold choice i make. and i am gonna stop saying i am in my flop era.
