You start the game running a small research lab, building AI. As you grow, a rival appears and the race kicks in. If you build too slow and they steal your resources. But if you build too fast without alignment, all humans lose (including you). In the late game players may want to take their foot off the pedal and slow down progress, but the world has begun to depend on the wonders you create. The challenge is to thread the needle, create great tech for humanity without ending it all.
