The Colorado Buffaloes are having about as disappointing a season as imaginable. The Buffs are 3-6, and if they don’t improve fast, they could be out of contention for a bowl game with a seventh loss on Saturday.
Head coach Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime, is in a spot he never imagined he’d be in after narrowly missing out on the College Football Playoff last year and even having the Heisman Trophy winner in two-way phenom Travis Hunter

This season, the Buffs have tried multiple quarterbacks, and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur was even relieved of play-calling duties. Nothing has seemed to work for the 2025 Buffs.
Now, athletic director Rick George is making a public statement following all of the disappointment.
“I’m proud of Coach Prime. It’s been a tough year what he’s been through. He’s been a trooper, been working hard, motivating. He’s doing the things I want him to do as Coach. We just gotta win more FB games,” George said.

Fans reacted to the statement on social media.
“Told y’all he not firing prime but eventually they gone have to part ways mutually so prime save face,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“They’re not going to fire him, but Prime is on the lookout for an offramp. He couldn’t have handled this season much worse than he has,” another fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how much longer Sanders is on the Colorado sidelines, one way or another.
