JAKARTA - The innovation of fuel made by a country’s child named Bobibos (Bakar Original Waste Made in Indonesia Bos) is in the public spotlight. Riau University (Unri) public communication expert, Chelsy Yesicha, assesses that Bobibos is part of public creativity in meeting the needs of alternative energy.
He said the government needed to embrace this discovery because it was in line with the government’s goal of creating self-sufficiency in energy included in the Astacita of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka Government.
I think space is given in the embrace. That’s why it was one of the efforts to sovereignty. Maybe literacy can be given,“ Chelsy said in “Discussion of One Year Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet from Angle of Energy View” in Pekanbaru, Riau, Friday, Nove…

Maybe literacy can be given,“ Chelsy said in “Discussion of One Year Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet from Angle of Energy View” in Pekanbaru, Riau, Friday, November 14.
Even so, Chelsy firmly reminded that energy innovation should not be marketed directly without going through scientific procedures. He refused if Bobibos was sold freely before comprehensive research was carried out.
“If it is marketed (without lab tests) I don’t think it agrees. Because if there are negative effects, how about it? Indeed, some people sometimes buy based on their beliefs,” he continued.
Riau Islamic University energy expert, Ira Herawati added, Bobibos is a breath of fresh air for fulfilling energy needs in Indonesia. However, he assessed that this innovation still requires further proof by credible institutions, before they can really replace existing energy sources.
“Because maybe it’s even bigger, this is the cost or maybe after effect. Maybe in the short term you can answer, but in the long term after that, what is it like? So I think this is something that is in the fresh air, which needs to be given space for appreciation, but also needs further proof,” said Ira.

Claimed to be alternative fuel based on straw waste by having RON 98, Ira said for a product, especially regarding the energy needs of many people, it should not only be considered good. However, the product must also be good when used so that it does not cause side effects.
He assessed that the steps taken by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, who is currently conducting laboratory tests, were right. Because after the lab test is complete, the product will have patents and can be safe when sold to the public.
“(This lab test) does not not break the spirit of the nation’s children to contribute in terms of research, discovery, and all kinds of things. We need to help appreciate it, give them a good patent,” said Ira.
In line with Ira, economist from Persada Bunda Indonesia University Riyadi Mustofa also welcomed the energy innovation that emerged in the community such as Bobibos, which is now a topic of conversation.
Even so, Riyadi reminded Bobibos that it is necessary to go through various stages of trials before they can finally be sold in general to the public. He emphasized the importance of lab tests from related institutions such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to prove the current claims.
“If it is commercial, it already has economic value, yes (Bobibos) the permit must be taken care of, there must be operational permits, manufacturing procedures, distribution permits. Therefore, goods are sold,” said Riyadi.
Riyadi explained that the development of alternative energy is part of the Prabowo-Gibran government’s long-term strategy to reduce dependence on energy imports.
He believes that adequate research will make innovations such as Bobibos have economic value as well as sustainability value. If laboratory tests show positive results, these alternative fuels can be an option for the community.
However, before reaching the commercialization and testing stage at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, continued Riyadi, Bobibos also needed to apply for permits at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry, to the Ministry of Trade. This is because Bobibos needs to have a certificate, lab test, and operational permit so that people are safe when using it.
“Yes, we should obey the rules. When we obey the rules, if something happens, we will follow the rules. If there is a problem with the law, we have followed the rules,” he said.
Known as alternative fuel based on straw waste with claims to own RON 98, Bobibos is said to be an environmentally friendly energy solution and open up new economic opportunities in rural areas.
