Lead Hill jumped out to an early 26-12 lead, but Bergman cut it to 40-33 at halftime. The Tigers held a slim 49-48 lead to start the fourth quarter.
Coda Lemon had 19 points to lead Lead Hill, followed by Brett Arnold with 18 and Noah Royce with 13.
Founders Classical 78, Oark 32
Five Founders players finished in double figures, including a double-double performance, as the Spartans rolled to a victory over Oark.
Max Hall led Founders with 28 points and 8 rebounds, while Tyler Bickett added 13 and David Rocha recorded the double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Grayson Tillman and David Rocha also had 12 points for the Spartans.
GIRLS
Valley Springs 67, Jasper 57
Laramie Watkins had 14 points to lead a balanced Valley Springs scoring attack as the Lady Tigers remained unbeaten with a victory at home over Jasper.
Valley Springs held a slim 14-13 cushion after one quarter, then extended its lead to 30-24 at halftime. The Lady Tigers took a 48-42 lead into the fourth quarter.
Violet Gamez added 12 points for Valley Springs, followed by Olivia Keeter with 11 and Raylee Rodman with 10. Delaney Redell led Jasper (4-2) with 20 points, followed by Kylee Carlton with 19 and Kinley Stephens with 13.

Golden Eagles advance to men’s semifinals
A pair of second-half goals from junior Amaury Jarry broke open a 1-1 match and lifted the John Brown University men’s soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Tuesday evening (Nov. 4), advancing the Golden Eagles into the Sooner Athletic tournament semifinal round at Alumni Field.
After a scoreless first half, the match opened up just three minutes into the second when sophomore Alejandro Gallardo broke the deadlock. Gallardo connected on a header at the back post off freshman Constantin Bauer’s corner service in the 49th minute, notching his seventh goal of the season.
The Rams (9-10) drew level six minutes later when Fabricio Martinez finished from close range, assisted by Louis Guffroy and Rudy Gonzalez.
In the 75th minute, Jarry put the Golden Eagles back on top, converting a cheeky chip of the Wesleyan keeper, Axel Tonietto, after a brilliant pass over the back line from Steven Cisneros.
Jarry struck again in the 87th minute, finishing a combination play that started with junior Andres Pereira sprinting through the midfield on the counter. Pereira expertly played a ball to freshman Ransford Okyere through the Ram back line, and with Tonietto coming to challenge, Okyere maneuvered around the stranded goalkeeper and sent an unselfish pass directly to Jarry in front of the awning goal for the insurance marker.
JBU goalkeeper Adam Tebbs (6-3-4) made one save in the win.
Gallardo and Jarry each tallied five shots and four on target to pace the JBU attack. Bauer, Cisneros, Okyere, and Pereira each recorded an assist as John Brown improved to 6-2-2 on its home grounds this season.
The Golden Eagles will play against Mid-America Christian in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Alumni Field.
JBU women defeat Wayland Baptist
The John Brown women’s soccer team picked up a 7-0 win over Wayland Baptist in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs.
The Golden Eagles (11-2-4)scored a pair of goals in the first half and added three more in the second half.
Caitlin Hilson scored the Golden Eagles’ first goal in the 8th minute with Tianna Jones and Aubrey Winter assisting.
In the 45th minute of the first half, JBU struck again as Winter scored off an assist from Katherine Keys.
JBU jumped right back into the scoring in the second half as Julia Lambert scored unassisted in the 48th minute for a 3-0 lead.
Keys scored unassisted to make it 4-0 in the 67th minute.
Brooklyn Hendrix made it 5-0 shortly after with a goal in the 69th minute. Hilson and Addie Craig each assisted on the goal.
Olivia Fish scored in the 71st minute for a 6-0 lead.
In the 73rd minute, the Golden Eagles went up 7-0 on a Wayland Baptist own goal.
Marely Fonseca made two saves in goal for JBU.
