Gorillaz have shared shared “The God of Lying,” their collab with IDLES, from upcoming album The Mountain. Co-written by Damon Albarn and Joe Talbot, the song was recorded in London, Devon and Mumbai, with contributions from Ajay Prasanna on bansuri and percussion by Viraj Acharya.
Talbot is in low-key mode here and his slurry vocal style is perfect for the chilled-out, dubby vibes of “The God is Lying,” a song that is in the same universe as Gorillaz’s “Clint Eastwood.” Listen below.
