After rolling out a couple singles earlier this year, redveil has finally announced a followup album to 2022’s great learn 2 swim. Titled sankofa, it arrives on December 4 and it finds redveil maintaining auteur status, handling rapping, singing, and all of the production, and also bringing in live session musicians to flesh everything out. The just-released “lone star” (ft. Carolyn Malachi) is the album’s third single, and it starts out in straight-up soul territory, before redveil reminds the world how hard he goes as a rapper.
