Street takeovers continue to spread across the United States, and they’re not limited to cars spinning in circles for social media clout. In Massachusetts, only weeks after more than 100 people attacked police cruisers during a chaotic takeover, another wave has arrived, this time with four-wheelers, dirt bikes, ebikes, and motorcycles joining in.
According to the Fall River police department, one such illegal event recently involved somewhere between 50 and 100 riders. Five of the participants ended up behind bars .Officers say they intend to be better prepared for the next one, bringing greater numbers and a stronger show of force.

Authorities say the latest incident unfolded on a Sunday afternoon. Large groups of riders reportedly ignored stop signs and traffic lights, weaving through intersections and blocking streets.
This evidently went on for multiple hours from around 3:15 p.m. til around 6 p.m. As it continued, police officers gathered and attempted to end the event. While they didn’t catch many, they did arrest five individuals.
The five men, aged 19 to 36 years old, face charges of negligent operation, failure to stop, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, conspiracy, resisting arrest, and violations related to unregistered or uninsured vehicles. One suspect, 36-year-old Jerron Butler, is also accused of assault and battery on an officer.
In total, officers seized four motorcycles, an ATV, and a scooter believed to have been used in the event. The department’s public statement took an unusually blunt tone.
“These are not merely bikers peacefully enjoying a law-abiding ride through our city,” it wrote in a statement. “These are chaotic groups that block streets, operate recklessly and hinder the safe travel of those around them.”
Videos from officers on duty and from locals show the gang of riders filling the street and disregarding lawful direction. One clip shows one of the five men arrested as officers swarmed him.
Police ended their statement by addressing those in the public who complained about the takeover: “We hear your concerns. We’re fed up too. We will have more friends to help us for the next event.”
