According to LRSD officials, the checks were hand-delivered by St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Billy Burris and other church members.
“We believe that children are the future - and what better way to give back than by investing in the places that shape them most: their schools,” said Pastor Burris. “Education is the cornerstone of a thriving community. By supporting our schools, we empower students, uplift teachers, and help shape a stronger future for all.”
Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright expressed that the district is thankful for the church’s generosity.
“This gesture from St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church is a powerful reminder of what makes Little Rock so special,” Wright said. “When faith, community, and education come together, our students win. We’re deeply grateful for the church’s continued support and belief in the mission of LRSD.”
