BENTON, Ark. - The holidays are here, and it's not just Thanksgiving that people are looking forward to, but also Christmas.
For shoppers who love to get ahead on gift buying and decorating, Glitz and Garland has now returned to Benton, and this year it's bigger and better. The event hosts over 60 vendors locally and from across the state.
KARK 4 Today visited the Benton Event Center to see how everything was set up. Rachel Rivers, the marketing director, led us on a tour of the facility. She said the event not only aims to support locals but it's also something families can attend to spread some holiday cheer.
"We've really expanded this year, so you'll find home goods, crafts, Christmas gifts, decor and some really good clothing for that transitional spruce up your closet for fall or winter," Rivers said.
Rivers said it typically takes them months in advance to plan out the event, but it's always successful. She says this year they're looking to see over 1,000 people at the event, and she's hoping to have more local vendors join next year.
“You need to support your businesses in your community and local here, there’s a lot of great things that we can do to support our business, and this is one of them and it’s also really big for Saline County,” Rivers said.
