The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place between June 11 and July 19 in 16 host cities across the US, Mexico and Canada. There will be 42 nations represented in the Final Draw, including England, Scotland and the competition’s host countries. Six of the overall 48 teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup have yet to be determined, and will be confirmed in March.
Over the summer, Williams released the first-ever official FIFA anthem, ‘Desire’ (featuring Laura Pausini). The pop icon co-founded Soccer Aid for UNICEF with Jonathan Wilkes in 2006. He has competed in the charity matches and performed live at the event.
In July, Coldplay, Doja Cat, J Balvin and Tems performed at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It was previously confirmed that Chris Martin would be helping to choose acts to perform at the first-ever World Cup half-time show in 2026.
Williams is scheduled to embark on his intimate ‘Long 90s’ tour early next year. He announced the special run of dates during his smallest-ever ticketed show, held at London’s Dingwalls in October. The gig saw him debut ‘BRITPOP’ in full, after playing his first album ‘Life Thru A Lens’ in its entirety.
In other news, Robbie Williams has shared his thoughts on Lily Allen’s new album ‘West End Girl’, describing it as “like Black Mirror meets Smash Hits”.
