Russian forces have struck a medicines warehouse belonging to the BaDM service company, one of Ukraine’s two largest pharmaceutical distributors, in the south of the country after earlier attacks destroyed drug storage facilities in October and November.

Details: The number of casualties and the scale of damage are not yet known. The company’s official website says that it has 60,000 sq m of warehouse facilities.

On 15 November, Russian forces hit a warehouse in Dnipro belonging to Optima-Pharm, the country’s second largest pharmaceutical distributor. The facility was completely destroyed but none of the staff were injured.

A warehouse facility and an office belonging to Optima-Pharm were destroyed in a Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of 24-25 October, causing over US$100 million worth of damage. That attack also wiped out 20% of Ukraine’s stock of medicines for the month.

Earlier, on 28 August 2025, a Russian missile attack damaged an Optima-Pharm pharmaceutical warehouse in Kyiv.

At the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian forces also destroyed BaDM logistics complexes in Kyiv and Poltava oblasts.

Update: The day after the logistics centre was attacked, BaDM told Ekonomichna Pravda that stocks of medicines and medical devices worth more than UAH 5 billion (approx. US$118 million) had been destroyed in the attack.

They added that a logistics facility with a total area of more than 43,000 sq m had been utterly destroyed.

Background: Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight, causing fires and injuring a child. Ukrainian air defence forces have downed 40 Russian drones over the oblast since the evening.
