The Switzerland-based manufacturer of plant-derived cosmetic actives unveils a next-generation senolytic ingredient designed to rejuvenate the skin by addressing the root causes of aging.

Following the principles of senolytic science, SenoCellTec [1] targets and removes senescent (“zombie”) cells. In addition, the new active ingredient promises to revitalizing skin stem cells and restoring dermal density, through a unique “clear – fill – revive” mechanism.

“Skin aging goes beyond surface-level changes. It is driven by deeper biological processes like the accumulation of senescent zombie cells and the decline of skin stem cell activity,” said Mibelle Biochemistry, a Mibelle Group subsidiary.

Senescent cells play a key role in biological aging processes. They release inflammatory signals that degrade collagen and disrupt regeneration, while aging stem cells lose their ability to renew the skin. “Together, these changes lead to reduced firmness, elasticity, and visible signs of aging. Addressing both factors is essential for lasting skin rejuvenation,” emphasized Mibelle.

First, SenoCellTec clears away senescent zombie cells that accelerate aging. Next, it fills the skin with new, functional cells by activating both dermal and epidermal stem cells. Finally, it revives skin vitality by boosting collagen production and improving elasticity.

Three plant extracts

SenoCellTec’s unique “clear – fill – revive” skin care approach is powered by three botanical extracts. Firstly, the alpine rose (Rhododendrum ferrugineum) extract provides the core senolytic activity, which helps to eliminate senescent cells. Meanwhile, an apple stem cell (Malus domestica) extract activates dermal stem cells, which helps to boost collagen production and improve skin density. Finally, a grape (Vitis vinifera) stem cell extract enhances keratinocyte stem cell function, strengthening the skin barrier.

Clinical tests

Clinically tested, SenoCellTec significantly enhances hydration, firmness, elasticity, and density in just 28 days, while visibly reducing wrinkle depth - even in gravity-influenced areas.

Recommended for use at a concentration of 2%, SenoCellTec is a liquid water-soluble ingredient. It is free from alcohol and preservatives and is certified by Ecocert Greenlife according to the COSMOS standard.
