MAJOR UPDATE: today i can hear artillery fire, it started this morning and its shaking my house!!

i live in kantharalak and my school just closed bc were on alert for clashes.

if you have seen the news then you know that there were two students from my school that were killed in the 7/11 from a rocket.

so far its only a gun fight but it will probably escalate again.

Just for clarification for people who dont know, on may 28th of this year a skirmish occurred between thai and cambodian patrol groups in which a cambodian soldier was killed. later on more skirmishes started to happen and cambodian forces started to plant anti personel mines. then on july 24th when i was in school we got warnings on our devices saying that there was fighting between the thai army and cambodian army, so our parents came to pick us up. a few minutes later we heard the first barrage of bm 21 grad rockets hit and unfortunately hit a 7/11 gas station that killed many including two students from my school.

there were 2 bm 21 grad barrages on july 24th an two more the next day targeted at my town and surrounding areas.

the clashes ended on a ceasefire on july 29th ,then a peace agreement was initiated in late october that only lasted two weeks before a thai soldier stepped on newly laid landmines (there were massive mine clearance operations after the skirmishes). this led to the peace agreement being suspended, and a few days later a skirmish in sa keao occurred between thai and cambodian forces where three cambodian civilians unfortunately lost there lives.

a few weeks after a chinese civilian stepped on newly laid cambodian land mines in sa kaeo .

and now another clash has happened here in kantharalak where two thai soldiers have been injured and now everyone is on high alert.
