Was checking out at a Tops and one of the items wouldn’t scan. I sheepishly turned around to see who was behind me and offer an apology, and everyone was totally cool, telling me not to worry about it, shit happens. Couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch. Wasted 10 minutes of their time and everyone was smiling. 1.

Had on a relatively new pair of shoes and stubbed the toe on the last step of a set of stairs and fell flat on my face. Everyone around rushed up to help me on my feet, including a young woman who grabbed my elbow to steady me. Nice people. 1.

So I’m out shopping somewhere and talking to a young woman wearing one of those hijab kind of things that cover the head and shoulders worn by Muslim women in Malaysia and Thailand. While I know that Muslims live all over Thailand, I thought there might be a good chance that she came from the south, so I asked her if that was the case. She said "No, I’m from Buriram, and I’m not a Muslim. I just wear this to keep out of the sun." So everything isn’t always what It seems.
