Hi dads, sorry to interrupt the usual cheerful and supportive atmosphere of this sub, but I really have to rant about this.
I’ve seen a lot of positive comments about the Stokke jetkids bed box and decided to get one for our 3.5 year old this Feburary.
All the functions seemed great at first, but in the 9 months from then, the thing has broken down THREE TIMES, including once during a trip and once right before a trip, significantly affecting our plans.
On the first trip right after it was purchased, one of the loops for the pull strap snapped. We had to tie both ends of the pull strap to the same loop resulting is a lot of swinging and swaying as we moved along. We went back to the store and had this repaired. 1.

On another trip in June, the front wheels buckled. The only reason I could think of was when we arrive at the train station and he rode the bedbox through a section with tiled floor, and the tile seams were too rough. But train station lobby tiles were somthing I expected the Bedbox to handle. This time, we got a full replacement. 1.
I just found out yesterday, two days before out trip, that the top half of the “new” box was cracked along all the rivets. This was not present when we first recieved the replacement box. We hadn’t even taken it on a trip yet! Our kid only rode it around the house which has brand new SPC flooring. We contacted the store who asked Stokke and their response was that this was obviously human damage, they refused to repair or replace any of the parts.
For the record, our kid is 4 now and weighs just over 20kg (45lb).
I appreciate that they repaired or replaced things the first two times, but having something like this break down three times in the matter of months is really quite ridiculous. I’ve had cheap Chinese plastic toys for my children that lasted much longer. This was a $200+ “European” product, when I pay prices like that I expect at least some degree of longevity.
Stokke is ridiculous and thhis product is bad. Avoid at all costs.
